This body butter is super moisturizing and will leave your skin feeling creamy dreamy.  Commercial lotions and potions might give the illusion that they are hydrating and moisturizing your skin...yet they really just contain a lot of water which evaporates, and leaves your skin parched. Most commercial lotions are also petroleum based which can have a suffocating effect on the skin; thus, I use coconut oil which provides true moisture!

Ingredients: Organic if possible.

1 glass mason jar

2 tablespoons shea butter

2 tablespoons cocoa butter

2 tablespoons sweet almond oil

2 tablespoons unrefined coconut oil

20 drops teaspoon essential oil. I'm in love with plumeria, so I use that to scent it. You can add more or less scent as you desire.

5-10 drops Vitamin E oil (optional )

The Steps:

1. Combine the shea butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil in bowl. 2. Melt your ingredients in a double boiler (if you're like me and don't have one of these, place your ingredients in a pyrex bowl and place over boiling water to achieve the same outcome). 3. When your ingredients have fully melted, add your essential oil and stir it in. 4. Place your bowl in the fridge and let the mixture cool for 45 minutes to 1 hour. 5. When your body butter has completely solidified, begin to whip it up with a whisk or fork. You can also use an electric hand mixer ( I don't have one of these). Keep whipping it until it forms little peaks just like whipped cream. 6. Transfer to a mason jar of your choice and enjoy!

It's great knowing that what you are putting on your skin is chemical and package-free, environmentally friendly, not tested on animals, and delicious (please don't eat it)!
