Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

They may not be the most beautiful cookies, but I only care about what's on the inside and how they taste! If you're vegan, it's super simple to leave out the egg and replace it with banana or flax seed. I always use organic ingredients purchased from the bulk (package free) section of the health-food store.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies this recipe makes 24 cookies.  Preheat oven to 350F.

3 cups flour of choice

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

4 tablespoons refined coconut oil (melted & slightly cooled)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 whole cage free eggs or vegan egg replacement

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 cup dark chocolate chips

The Steps: 1. Combine and thoroughly mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl (flour, baking soda, sea salt). 2. In another bowl combine and mix the wet ingredients (melted coconut oil, vanilla, maple syrup, eggs) 4. Slowly incorporate your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients. Then stir in the chocolate chips. 5. Chill the batter for 20 minutes (optional). 6. Make the dough into balls. Whatever size you want! 6. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Hot Tips: I let my maple syrup and eggs come to room temperature before starting this recipe. Why use maple syrup? It's the most delicious and sustainable sweetener on the market!
